Field Notes

Good crew day starting. Sheathed and taped the last gable end. The Whiteside face is catching the morning light off the back deck now.

Cabinet crew starts Monday. Staged the boxes in the garage, out of the finish traffic.

County framing inspection is set for Wednesday. Punch-listed a few strap-nailing spots for the crew this morning so we pass clean.

Walked the window openings with the installer ahead of next week. Rough openings all check out against the order.

Rain all week held the footings inspection. County can not get out until the ground firms up, so I rescheduled and let the Benoits know the slab date moves with it.

Trim carpentry wrapped in the great room. The coffered ceiling detail came out exactly like the drawings.

Marble supplier pushed the primary bath stone about two weeks. Not on the critical path yet, flagging it early so the Harlans hear it from us first.

Soil test results are back. Bearing is good right where the engineer wanted the footings, no surprises to design around.

Walked the pre-insulation air-sealing plan with the framer. Bottom plates and every band-joist penetration get sealed before rough-in so the envelope tests tight.

Roof is dried-in. Ice-and-water shield down at every eave and valley, synthetic underlayment over the field. The house is weather-tight ahead of the front coming through Thursday.

Blower-door test came back at 1.8 ACH50, well under target for this envelope. The HERS rater was pleased with the closed-cell at the roof deck.

Footings poured on the north wing. Clean pour and good consolidation, no cold joints.

Erosion control and tree protection are in. Ready for the driveway cut the moment the permit clears.

Framing topped out. Ridge is set and the roof line matches the render the Harlans fell for.
